Pool and water feature questions
In full Dubai sun it does get hot underfoot, and no supplier can honestly claim otherwise. Shade, a lighter pile colour and a quick rinse before use all reduce it. In shaded or partly shaded areas it stays comfortable.
UV exposure is what ages it, so the UV stabilisation of the yarn matters more than the pile height. A quality turf laid on a proper base lasts years; cheap turf fades and flattens within two summers. We quote the specification, not just a square metre rate.
A compacted aggregate base with a weed membrane, graded for drainage. Laying turf straight onto sand is the main cause of dips and weed growth later.
Far less than a lawn, but not none. Occasional brushing to lift the pile and a rinse to clear dust, which in Dubai builds up faster than most people expect. No mowing, feeding or irrigation.
Yes, and it is one of the most common uses here. Drainage is the thing to get right so water does not pool underneath. We check the existing falls and outlet before quoting.
