Palm Trees
Palms are the most ordered outdoor plant family on myplants.ae, and price tracks height and trunk maturity rather than species rarity. The same species at 2 metres and at 6 metres can differ by a factor of six, because what you are paying for is the years the tree spent in a nursery and the root ball that has to be moved.
What palms cost by height
Fourteen palms are stocked, from AED 95 to AED 6,600. Height is the first filter, since a palm that suits a courtyard is a different purchase from one lining a driveway.
Under 1.5 metres, AED 95 to AED 370. Coconut Palm from AED 95 at 1.5 metres, Cycas Palm, also sold as Sago Palm, from AED 95 at 50cm up to AED 370 at 100cm with a thick trunk, Bamboo Palm 3PP at AED 150 for a 100cm plant in three stems, and Traveler's Palm from AED 150 at 1.2 metres. Chamaerops Palm at AED 350 for 100cm and Phoenix Palm at AED 350 for 1.5 metres.
1 to 2 metres, AED 750 to AED 1,250. Washingtonia Palm Pakistani from AED 750 at 1 metre, Vicia Palm at AED 850 for 2 metres, Date Palm from AED 950 at 2 metres, Washingtonia Palm Spanish from AED 1,100 at 1 metre, Manila Palm at AED 1,155 for 200cm, and Foxtail Palm from AED 1,250 at 2 metres.
Specimen size, AED 2,200 and up. Wax Palm from AED 2,200 at 2.5 metres to AED 4,200 at 4 metres. Bismarck Palm at AED 2,800 for a 2 to 2.5 metre tree, the widest and most silver of the group. Date Palm to AED 2,800 at 6 metres. Foxtail Palm to AED 3,200 at 4 metres. Washingtonia Pakistani to AED 4,650 and Washingtonia Spanish to AED 6,600, both at 6 metres.
Washingtonia, Spanish or Pakistani
Both are stocked in the same six heights from 1 to 6 metres, and the Spanish costs more at every height: AED 1,100 against AED 750 at 1 metre, AED 6,600 against AED 4,650 at 6 metres. They are sourced differently rather than being different species, so the choice is a budget and availability decision rather than a horticultural one. If a row of matched palms is the goal, order them together from the same type, since trunk character varies between sources.
Trunk height is not the same as total height
Palms are usually quoted by overall height, but what changes a space is clear trunk: the bare stem below the crown. Two 3 metre palms with different trunk heights look completely different in a garden, because one reads as a tree you walk under and the other as a shrub with a crown at eye level. Worth confirming which you are getting before ordering a row.
Palms that work indoors
Bamboo Palm 3PP is the one on this page that suits an interior, at 100cm in a nursery pot, with a decorative pot available to add on its product page. Areca Palm, Lady Palm and Parlour Palm are indoor palms and live in the indoor plants range instead, since they need filtered light rather than the full UAE sun the outdoor species want.
Water and heat
Established palms are among the most drought tolerant large plants available here, which is why Date and Washingtonia appear across municipal planting in the Emirates. The exception is the establishment period: a newly planted palm needs consistent water while its root system re-establishes after transplant, and that first season decides whether it survives at all. Coconut Palm is the thirstiest of the group and the least suited to an unirrigated position.
Delivery and planting
Palms above roughly 3 metres are delivered and planted by our team. A palm that size carries a root ball too heavy to place by hand, and planting depth matters more for palms than for most trees: set too deep, the trunk base rots, and set too shallow, the tree will not anchor. Smaller palms in the under 1.5 metre tier ship as standard delivery.
Supply for landscaping and trade
Rows of matched palms for a driveway, boundary or development are quoted directly rather than ordered through the cart, since matching height and trunk character across a run matters more than the unit price. For palms planted as part of a full garden scope rather than supplied loose, see our landscaping service.
FAQ
How much does a palm tree cost in Dubai?
From AED 95 for a 1.5 metre Coconut Palm or a 50cm Cycas to AED 6,600 for a 6 metre Spanish Washingtonia. Most villa garden palms fall between AED 750 and AED 1,500, with price driven by height and trunk maturity rather than species.
Which palm tree is best for a Dubai garden?
Washingtonia and Date Palm for full sun and minimal irrigation once established, Foxtail or Bismarck where a wider crown suits the space, and Chamaerops or Cycas for a courtyard where a 6 metre tree would overwhelm.
What is the difference between Spanish and Pakistani Washingtonia?
They are the same species sourced differently. Both come in six heights from 1 to 6 metres, with the Spanish priced higher at every height. Order a matched row from one type, since trunk character varies between sources.
How often do palm trees need watering in the UAE?
Rarely once established, which is why they suit UAE gardens. The exception is the first season after planting, when consistent water while the roots re-establish decides whether the tree survives.
Which palms can I keep indoors?
Bamboo Palm from this page works at 100cm indoors. Areca, Lady and Parlour Palm are the dedicated indoor species and sit in the indoor plants range, since they need filtered light rather than direct sun.
How are large palm trees delivered and planted?
Palms above roughly 3 metres are delivered and planted on site by our team. Planting depth is critical for palms, since setting the trunk base too deep causes rot and too shallow leaves the tree unanchored.
What is a Sago Palm?
Sago Palm is another name for Cycas, stocked from AED 95 at 50cm to AED 370 at 100cm. The thick trunk version costs more than the thin trunk at the same height, because trunk girth takes years to build.
Do you supply palms for landscaping projects?
Yes. Matched rows for driveways, boundaries and developments are quoted directly rather than ordered through the cart, so height and trunk character can be matched across the run.
