Description
Acacia Tree is a desert hardy shade tree with fine divided foliage and a spreading flat topped crown.
Two sizes are stocked, 1.5m to 2.0m and 300cm to 350cm, priced from AED 150 to AED 400 in a nursery pot.
Acacia roots go deep rather than wide, which suits sandy ground that drains within minutes and holds almost nothing. Once established it copes with alkaline soil and long rainless months, though the first summer still needs irrigation while the taproot works its way down.
How to care for Acacia Tree in the UAE
Full sun, no shade. Water deeply once or twice a week in the first year, then taper off sharply. The common failure is daily drip irrigation left running after year one, which keeps the roots shallow and leaves the tree unstable in a shamal wind.
Where Acacia Tree works best

Does the Acacia have thorns?
Most acacias carry thorns along the branches. Keep it back from pool edges and narrow paths, and wear gloves when pruning.
How much shade does an Acacia give?
The crown is open rather than dense, so it casts dappled shade. That suits underplanting, but it will not fully block midday sun over a seating area.
Plants Care
Watering:
Water your plant once a week or when the soil starts to feel slightly dry on the surface. Keep the soil consistently moist, but be careful not to overwater, as this can cause brown spots and leaf drop. If the leaves become curly or dry, it's a sign that the plant needs water. It's best to water your plant in the early morning or late evening when the temperatures are cooler. Always check the soil before watering.
Light:
Provide bright indoor light or indirect sunlight for about 6 to 8 hours a day.
Temperature:
Maintain temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid exposing the plant to drafts, as these can cause undesirable temperature fluctuations. Mist the plant occasionally, about twice a week, to help maintain optimal humidity levels.
Fertilizer:
Apply liquid fertiliser every 15 days when the plant is actively growing. For best results, use Folikraft ready-to-use Indoor Plant Food.
