Description
Philodendron Scandens Tall is a climbing philodendron trained up a support, holding the heart shaped leaves in a vertical column instead of trailing.
It is supplied at 120cm, from AED 255 to AED 350, with a nursery pot or a ceramic pot.
A trained climber depends on its moss or coir pole staying damp, and poles dry fast in conditioned air here. Once a pole is bone dry the aerial roots stop gripping, upper leaves come through smaller, and the column pulls away.
How to care for Philodendron Scandens Tall in the UAE
Medium to bright indirect light. Water when the top few centimetres dry, pouring water down the pole at the same time so the aerial roots have something to hold. Cut back any bare stem. The usual failure locally is watering the pot but never the pole, leaving leaves only at the top.

They grip the pole rather than the wall, provided the plant stays tied in. Trim any root reaching past the support.

Watering:
Water your plant once a week or when the soil starts to feel slightly dry on the surface. Keep the soil consistently moist, but be careful not to overwater, as this can cause brown spots and leaf drop. If the leaves become curly or dry, it's a sign that the plant needs water. It's best to water your plant in the early morning or late evening when the temperatures are cooler. Always check the soil before watering.
Light:
Provide bright indoor light or indirect sunlight for about 6 to 8 hours a day.
Temperature:
Maintain temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid exposing the plant to drafts, as these can cause undesirable temperature fluctuations. Mist the plant occasionally, about twice a week, to help maintain optimal humidity levels.
Fertilizer:
Apply liquid fertiliser every 15 days when the plant is actively growing. For best results, use Folikraft ready-to-use Indoor Plant Food.
