Description
Box Shaped Coal Planter is a square planter in a dark coal finish, built with straight vertical sides instead of a tapered profile. Three heights are offered, 23cm, 30cm and 40cm, priced between AED 250 and AED 450.
A dark planter left in open sun heats hardest on the side facing the sun, and soil against that wall dries faster than the rest of the container. It is why a plant in a dark box often browns on one side only. On a shaded terrace or indoors, the effect disappears.
How to use the Box Shaped Coal Planter
Check that water can escape before planting. Straight sides hold a deeper column of soil than a tapered pot of the same height, so the bottom stays wet longest, and coarse gravel at the base keeps roots out of that zone.

Can it stay outdoors year round in Dubai?
Yes. The main consideration is sun exposure on the dark surface, not the weather. Standing it on pot feet keeps the base off hot paving.
Should I plant into it directly or keep the nursery pot inside?
Either approach works. Planting directly gives roots more soil; keeping the grower pot inside makes replacing a tired plant far quicker.
Plants Care
Watering:
Water your plant once a week or when the soil starts to feel slightly dry on the surface. Keep the soil consistently moist, but be careful not to overwater, as this can cause brown spots and leaf drop. If the leaves become curly or dry, it's a sign that the plant needs water. It's best to water your plant in the early morning or late evening when the temperatures are cooler. Always check the soil before watering.
Light:
Provide bright indoor light or indirect sunlight for about 6 to 8 hours a day.
Temperature:
Maintain temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid exposing the plant to drafts, as these can cause undesirable temperature fluctuations. Mist the plant occasionally, about twice a week, to help maintain optimal humidity levels.
Fertilizer:
Apply liquid fertiliser every 15 days when the plant is actively growing. For best results, use Folikraft ready-to-use Indoor Plant Food.
