Ehretia Ball is a dense evergreen shrub trained into a clipped sphere, holding that shape through repeated trimming thanks to very small leaves and tight branching.
Heights are 30cm, 50cm and 80cm, each in a nursery pot or a ceramic pot. Prices start at AED 100 and reach AED 340 for the largest ball.
Fine foliage traps the dust that settles on everything outdoors in the Gulf, and a dusty ball reads grey rather than green within weeks. A hose rinse over the top every fortnight keeps the colour and knocks back the mites that build up on dry leaves in summer.
How to care for Ehretia Ball in the UAE
Full sun or half day sun both work, with water every second day through summer in a pot and less in ground. The common failure is letting the clipped surface grow out for months, then cutting hard into bare wood, which leaves brown patches that take a season to refill.
Where Ehretia Ball works best
Use it in pairs flanking a door, spaced along a path, or set into gravel where the round form reads against loose planting. Balconies suit the 30cm size. Look through the outdoor plants for Gulf gardens for underplanting.

Roughly every six to eight weeks in growing season. Frequent light cuts hold a sharper outline than occasional heavy ones.

Watering:
Water your plant once a week or when the soil starts to feel slightly dry on the surface. Keep the soil consistently moist, but be careful not to overwater, as this can cause brown spots and leaf drop. If the leaves become curly or dry, it's a sign that the plant needs water. It's best to water your plant in the early morning or late evening when the temperatures are cooler. Always check the soil before watering.
Light:
Provide bright indoor light or indirect sunlight for about 6 to 8 hours a day.
Temperature:
Maintain temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid exposing the plant to drafts, as these can cause undesirable temperature fluctuations. Mist the plant occasionally, about twice a week, to help maintain optimal humidity levels.
Fertilizer:
