Description
Dracaena Lemon Lime is a striped Dracaena recognised by chartreuse leaf margins either side of a dark green centre.
Stocked at 90cm and 120cm, from AED 185 to AED 325 depending on height and pot, nursery or ceramic.
The pale stripe carries less chlorophyll, so this plant needs more light than a plain green Dracaena to grow at the same rate. In a Dubai flat lit only by a shaded north facing balcony door, the stripes narrow over a year and new leaves come through nearly plain green.
How to care for Dracaena Lemon Lime in the UAE
Bright indirect light keeps the contrast strong. Water when the surface is dry to a finger's depth, then empty the saucer. What catches people out is roof tank water in July, which arrives near scalding and shocks the feeder roots.
Where Dracaena Lemon Lime works best

FAQ
Why are the new leaves greener than the old ones?
Light, almost always. Variegation is costly to produce, so the plant drops yellow tissue first when light is short. Move it nearer a window.
Should the brown leaf tips be cut off?
Trim them if they bother you, cutting just inside the dead tissue at an angle copying the leaf shape. Cutting into green tissue browns again.
Plants Care
Watering:
Water your plant once a week or when the soil starts to feel slightly dry on the surface. Keep the soil consistently moist, but be careful not to overwater, as this can cause brown spots and leaf drop. If the leaves become curly or dry, it's a sign that the plant needs water. It's best to water your plant in the early morning or late evening when the temperatures are cooler. Always check the soil before watering.
Light:
Provide bright indoor light or indirect sunlight for about 6 to 8 hours a day.
Temperature:
Maintain temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid exposing the plant to drafts, as these can cause undesirable temperature fluctuations. Mist the plant occasionally, about twice a week, to help maintain optimal humidity levels.
Fertilizer:
Apply liquid fertiliser every 15 days when the plant is actively growing. For best results, use Folikraft ready-to-use Indoor Plant Food.
