Busida Tree / Bucida Buceras Red carries layered horizontal branches and reddish new growth on a tough trunk built for coastal landscaping.
Heights run from 2 metres to 5 metres, priced from AED 399 to AED 1599.
Bucida is one of the more salt tolerant landscape trees used in Dubai, which is why it turns up along coastal roads and in beachside developments. It also handles compacted sandy fill and alkaline ground, though the small leaves drop steadily and collect in pool skimmers and gutters.
How to care for Busida Tree / Bucida Buceras Red in the UAE
Full sun with deep irrigation while it establishes, then moderate water. Prune to lift the canopy as it grows. The most common problem here is planting it too close to paving, since surface roots and constant fine leaf litter cause more trouble than the tree itself.

Yes. It is planted widely near the coast in the Emirates and handles salt laden wind better than most ornamental shade trees of similar size.

Watering:
Water your plant once a week or when the soil starts to feel slightly dry on the surface. Keep the soil consistently moist, but be careful not to overwater, as this can cause brown spots and leaf drop. If the leaves become curly or dry, it's a sign that the plant needs water. It's best to water your plant in the early morning or late evening when the temperatures are cooler. Always check the soil before watering.
Light:
Provide bright indoor light or indirect sunlight for about 6 to 8 hours a day.
Temperature:
Maintain temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid exposing the plant to drafts, as these can cause undesirable temperature fluctuations. Mist the plant occasionally, about twice a week, to help maintain optimal humidity levels.
