Washingtonia Palm (Pakistani) is a fan palm from Pakistani nursery stock and the broader, faster growing of the two Washingtonia forms sold here, with large fan fronds on a thicker trunk.
Six heights are sold: AED 750 at 1.0 metre, AED 1,500 at 2.0 metres, AED 2,250 at 3.0 metres, AED 3,050 at 4.0 metres, AED 3,800 at 5.0 metres and AED 4,650 at 6.0 metres. Palms of 3.0 metres and taller are delivered and planted by the MyPlants team.
A field grown palm loses most of its roots when it is dug for transport, so the first months after planting decide whether it establishes. In Dubai heat a newly planted Washingtonia needs deep watering every 2 to 3 days through its first summer. The central spear of new fronds is the part to watch: a spear that stays green and keeps extending means the roots have taken.
How to care for Washingtonia Palm (Pakistani) in the UAE
Plant Washingtonia Palm (Pakistani) in full sun, in sandy, free draining ground. After its first year, a deep soak once a week in summer and every 2 to 3 weeks in winter is enough. Cut dead fronds back to the trunk once a year, because the dry fronds hang on and collect dust.

Watering:
Water your plant once a week or when the soil starts to feel slightly dry on the surface. Keep the soil consistently moist, but be careful not to overwater, as this can cause brown spots and leaf drop. If the leaves become curly or dry, it's a sign that the plant needs water. It's best to water your plant in the early morning or late evening when the temperatures are cooler. Always check the soil before watering.
Light:
Provide bright indoor light or indirect sunlight for about 6 to 8 hours a day.
Temperature:
Maintain temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid exposing the plant to drafts, as these can cause undesirable temperature fluctuations. Mist the plant occasionally, about twice a week, to help maintain optimal humidity levels.
Fertilizer:
