Description
Snake Plant is an upright succulent with stiff banded leaves growing from a rhizome, and it survives more neglect than anything else we stock.
Heights are 50cm, 60cm and 80cm, from AED 40 to AED 170, in a nursery or ceramic pot.
It handles the daily swing between a 45C balcony and a 21C conditioned living room better than almost anything else, which is why it fills rental flats here. Its real limit is winter water: compost left cool and wet for weeks kills it from the rhizome.
How to care for Snake Plant in the UAE
Any light level from a dark hallway to a bright window. Water every two to three weeks in summer and monthly or less in winter, then empty the saucer. The most common failure here is watering weekly: the leaf bases turn soft and yellow, and by the time the fan tips over the rhizome has gone.

FAQ
How long can a Snake Plant go without water?
Four to six weeks indoors in winter, and about three in summer. A long dry spell is far safer than an extra watering.
Does the Snake Plant need repotting often?
No. It grows better slightly pot bound. Repot every three or four years, or once the rhizomes crack the container.
Plants Care
Watering:
Water your plant once a week or when the soil starts to feel slightly dry on the surface. Keep the soil consistently moist, but be careful not to overwater, as this can cause brown spots and leaf drop. If the leaves become curly or dry, it's a sign that the plant needs water. It's best to water your plant in the early morning or late evening when the temperatures are cooler. Always check the soil before watering.
Light:
Provide bright indoor light or indirect sunlight for about 6 to 8 hours a day.
Temperature:
Maintain temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid exposing the plant to drafts, as these can cause undesirable temperature fluctuations. Mist the plant occasionally, about twice a week, to help maintain optimal humidity levels.
Fertilizer:
Apply liquid fertiliser every 15 days when the plant is actively growing. For best results, use Folikraft ready-to-use Indoor Plant Food.
