Description
Monstera Deliciosa is a large leaved aroid whose deep splits appear only once the plant reaches maturity.
It is stocked at 50cm, 80cm and 120cm, from AED 100 to AED 575, in a nursery or ceramic pot.
Broad flat leaves collect the fine dust that blows in during a shamal, and a film of it cuts the light reaching the blade. Owners here blame slow growth on the corner the plant stands in, when the real cause is a grey coating nobody has wiped off.
How to care for Monstera Deliciosa in the UAE
It wants bright indirect light and takes a little early sun. Water once the top five centimetres dry, every seven to ten days through summer. The most common failure locally is a plant set too far from a window, pushing out small undivided leaves on bare stems.

How long before my Monstera Deliciosa leaves split?
Splits come once the plant is established in good light, often from 80cm upward. A 50cm plant can take a year or longer.
Does it need a moss pole?
Not at first, though it leans as it gains height. Adding a pole at around a metre keeps the stem upright.
Plants Care
Watering:
Water your plant once a week or when the soil starts to feel slightly dry on the surface. Keep the soil consistently moist, but be careful not to overwater, as this can cause brown spots and leaf drop. If the leaves become curly or dry, it's a sign that the plant needs water. It's best to water your plant in the early morning or late evening when the temperatures are cooler. Always check the soil before watering.
Light:
Provide bright indoor light or indirect sunlight for about 6 to 8 hours a day.
Temperature:
Maintain temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid exposing the plant to drafts, as these can cause undesirable temperature fluctuations. Mist the plant occasionally, about twice a week, to help maintain optimal humidity levels.
Fertilizer:
