Description
Monkey Monstera is a climbing aroid whose leaves carry oval holes punched through the blade, unlike the edge cuts of larger Monstera species.
It is offered at 40cm and 80cm, from AED 75 to AED 260, in a nursery or ceramic pot.
This is a vine, and vines carry thin leaves that give up moisture quickly. In a flat with the cooling running overnight, new leaves open smaller and with fewer holes than those below. That reports dry air, not poor light, and corrects once humidity improves.
How to care for Monkey Monstera in the UAE
Bright indirect light, never midday sun, which bleaches the blade. Water once the surface dries, before the vine goes limp. On a moss pole the leaves get larger; left to trail they stay small. The local mistake is letting the pot dry out completely in July, because those leaves never recover.
Where Monkey Monstera works best

Is Monkey Monstera the same plant as Monstera Deliciosa?
No, they are different species. This one stays a slender vine with holed leaves; deliciosa builds larger split leaves on a thick stem.
Why did the newest leaves come out solid, with no holes?
Young growth far from a window stays solid. Move it nearer the light and later leaves should open with holes.
Plants Care
Watering:
Water your plant once a week or when the soil starts to feel slightly dry on the surface. Keep the soil consistently moist, but be careful not to overwater, as this can cause brown spots and leaf drop. If the leaves become curly or dry, it's a sign that the plant needs water. It's best to water your plant in the early morning or late evening when the temperatures are cooler. Always check the soil before watering.
Light:
Provide bright indoor light or indirect sunlight for about 6 to 8 hours a day.
Temperature:
Maintain temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid exposing the plant to drafts, as these can cause undesirable temperature fluctuations. Mist the plant occasionally, about twice a week, to help maintain optimal humidity levels.
Fertilizer:
Apply liquid fertiliser every 15 days when the plant is actively growing. For best results, use Folikraft ready-to-use Indoor Plant Food.
