Description
Money Tree / Pachira is an indoor tree grown with a braided trunk, plaited from young stems while they are still green.
Three heights are listed in a nursery pot: 50cm at AED 120, and 120cm at AED 260 and 180cm at AED 380 when in stock. You can add a decorative pot of your choice separately.
Pachira stores water in the swollen base of its trunk, so it forgives a missed week. The problem in the UAE is the reverse of drought: a fixed watering routine through the cooler months leaves the braid sitting damp, and the stems soften where they cross.
How to care for Money Tree / Pachira in the UAE
Medium to bright indirect light keeps the leaflets full; deep shade stretches the stems. Water only when the top third of the pot is dry, and cut back sharply from December to February. The commonest failure here is root rot from winter watering, seen first as yellowing oldest leaves.
Where Money Tree / Pachira works best
A 50cm plant suits a desk. The 120cm and 180cm sizes hold a living room corner or lobby. Keep it away from a door opening onto street heat. Pachira is not toxic to pets, so see more plants that are safe around pets.

Why are my Money Tree leaf tips brown and crisp?
Dry air and tap water salts, usually, not thirst. Flush the pot heavily monthly and move it out of the air conditioning path.
Can I unbraid the trunk?
No. The stems fuse as they thicken and pulling them apart tears the bark. Start with an unbraided plant.
Plants Care
Watering:
Water your plant once a week or when the soil starts to feel slightly dry on the surface. Keep the soil consistently moist, but be careful not to overwater, as this can cause brown spots and leaf drop. If the leaves become curly or dry, it's a sign that the plant needs water. It's best to water your plant in the early morning or late evening when the temperatures are cooler. Always check the soil before watering.
Light:
Provide bright indoor light or indirect sunlight for about 6 to 8 hours a day.
Temperature:
Maintain temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid exposing the plant to drafts, as these can cause undesirable temperature fluctuations. Mist the plant occasionally, about twice a week, to help maintain optimal humidity levels.
Fertilizer:
Apply liquid fertiliser every 15 days when the plant is actively growing. For best results, use Folikraft ready-to-use Indoor Plant Food.
