Description
Fiddle Leaf Tree is a Ficus lyrata grown as a single stemmed tree, carrying large, stiff, violin shaped leaves that give it its difficult reputation.
It comes at 100cm for AED 250 and 150cm for AED 350, supplied in a nursery pot. A ceramic pot is not an option here.
Large leaves lose a lot of water, and lyrata registers a change in conditions faster than most indoor trees. Move one from a bright hall into a cooled bedroom with one small window and the lower leaves mark with brown patches for good.
How to care for Fiddle Leaf Tree in the UAE
It wants the brightest position you have short of hard afternoon sun. Water when the top five centimetres are dry, then drain fully. The failure here is watering on schedule in a dim room: compost stays damp and dark blotches creep in.
Where Fiddle Leaf Tree works best
Beside an east facing window, in a villa stairwell with a rooflight, or a metre back from a tall curtained window. For a windowless office an artificial tree is the more honest answer.

Why does my fiddle leaf have brown spots?
Dark spots spreading from the edges mean wet compost and too little light. Small tan spots mid leaf mean it dried out hard.
Does the Fiddle Leaf Tree come in a ceramic pot?
No, this one ships in its nursery pot. Stand it inside a cover pot, which also makes it easy to lift out and drain.
Plants Care
Watering:
Water your plant once a week or when the soil starts to feel slightly dry on the surface. Keep the soil consistently moist, but be careful not to overwater, as this can cause brown spots and leaf drop. If the leaves become curly or dry, it's a sign that the plant needs water. It's best to water your plant in the early morning or late evening when the temperatures are cooler. Always check the soil before watering.
Light:
Provide bright indoor light or indirect sunlight for about 6 to 8 hours a day.
Temperature:
Maintain temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid exposing the plant to drafts, as these can cause undesirable temperature fluctuations. Mist the plant occasionally, about twice a week, to help maintain optimal humidity levels.
Fertilizer:
Apply liquid fertiliser every 15 days when the plant is actively growing. For best results, use Folikraft ready-to-use Indoor Plant Food.
