Ficus Bonsai 8 Shape is a mature trained ficus whose trunk has been grown and grafted into a closed figure eight, a shape built over years of guided growth rather than pruning alone.
It stands 140cm tall, available in a nursery pot or a ceramic pot, priced from AED 650 to AED 850.
Ficus reacts badly to sudden change, and moving one from a shaded nursery onto a hot terrace, or into an air conditioned lobby, brings on leaf drop lasting two or three weeks. It recovers, but only if left in one position while it does.
How to care for Ficus Bonsai 8 Shape in the UAE
Bright indirect light indoors, or filtered sun outdoors, with water once the top few centimetres dry. The commonest problem is watering on a fixed schedule regardless of season: winter demand falls by more than half, and summer frequency then rots roots inside a dense, slow drying rootball.
Where Ficus Bonsai 8 Shape works best
At this height it is a focal piece: a hotel reception, a villa entrance hall, a staircase landing, or a shaded courtyard where the trunk is visible from both sides. The plants for offices and receptions hold similar scale specimens.

Yes, the trunks are fused permanently. New shoots need trimming so foliage does not obscure the loops.
Is it suitable for a fully indoor room with no windows?
No. It needs real daylight, and a windowless room causes steady leaf loss.

Watering:
Water your plant once a week or when the soil starts to feel slightly dry on the surface. Keep the soil consistently moist, but be careful not to overwater, as this can cause brown spots and leaf drop. If the leaves become curly or dry, it's a sign that the plant needs water. It's best to water your plant in the early morning or late evening when the temperatures are cooler. Always check the soil before watering.
Light:
Provide bright indoor light or indirect sunlight for about 6 to 8 hours a day.
Temperature:
Maintain temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid exposing the plant to drafts, as these can cause undesirable temperature fluctuations. Mist the plant occasionally, about twice a week, to help maintain optimal humidity levels.
Fertilizer:
Apply liquid fertiliser every 15 days when the plant is actively growing. For best results, use Folikraft ready-to-use Indoor Plant Food.
