Description
Dracaena Marginata is a fine leaved Dracaena sold as a multi stem tree, its narrow red edged leaves held in tufts on slim grey trunks.
Four heights are stocked, 80cm, 100cm, 120cm and 170cm, from AED 105 to AED 460 across the height and pot options, nursery or ceramic.
Those slim trunks act as water storage, so the plant rides out a missed week. What it does not forgive is compost gone water repellent after drying hard in a hot flat. Water then runs down the inside wall of the pot, leaving the root ball dry.
How to care for Dracaena Marginata in the UAE
Moderate to bright indirect light. Water every ten to fourteen days in summer, less in winter, soaking the whole pot rather than sprinkling. Little and often is the failure here: deeper roots stay dry and the tufts thin while the soil looks damp.
Where Dracaena Marginata works best
The narrow footprint suits stairwells, the space behind a sofa, and gaps beside tall joinery. The curving trunks read better on a plain wall. For a container, see our ceramic pots and planters.

How much trunk does each size carry?
It depends on size. Smaller plants carry one or two canes, and 170cm plants usually three, staggered at different heights for a layered head.
Can Dracaena Marginata live outdoors in Dubai?
Only in shade, and only from November to March. Summer sun scorches the thin leaves within days, and reflected heat off paving worsens it.
Plants Care
Watering:
Water your plant once a week or when the soil starts to feel slightly dry on the surface. Keep the soil consistently moist, but be careful not to overwater, as this can cause brown spots and leaf drop. If the leaves become curly or dry, it's a sign that the plant needs water. It's best to water your plant in the early morning or late evening when the temperatures are cooler. Always check the soil before watering.
Light:
Provide bright indoor light or indirect sunlight for about 6 to 8 hours a day.
Temperature:
Maintain temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid exposing the plant to drafts, as these can cause undesirable temperature fluctuations. Mist the plant occasionally, about twice a week, to help maintain optimal humidity levels.
Fertilizer:
Apply liquid fertiliser every 15 days when the plant is actively growing. For best results, use Folikraft ready-to-use Indoor Plant Food.
