Description
Dieffenbachia Seguine is an upright cane forming foliage plant with large leaves splashed cream and white along the midrib, holding that variegation even in moderate light.
Heights offered are 80cm and 100cm, priced from AED 190 to AED 340, with nursery or ceramic pot options. Both sizes stand on visible canes, so they read as floor plants.
Thin, wide leaves make this one of the first plants to scorch behind UAE glazing. Direct sun through a window burns bleached patches into the cream sections while the darker green areas survive, leaving damage that never grows out.
How to care for Dieffenbachia Seguine in the UAE
Moderate to bright indirect light, and water once the top few centimetres dry. Wipe the leaves so dust does not cut light further. The typical decline here is a bare lower cane with a tuft of leaves on top, caused by too little light, and the remedy is cutting the cane back.

Is Dieffenbachia dangerous to keep at home?
Its sap contains crystals that cause painful mouth and throat swelling if chewed, which is where the common name comes from. Keep it away from pets and toddlers.
Can I cut the tall cane back?
Yes. Cut above a node in spring and the stump sprouts new shoots. The removed top section roots in water and gives you a second plant.
Plants Care
Watering:
Water your plant once a week or when the soil starts to feel slightly dry on the surface. Keep the soil consistently moist, but be careful not to overwater, as this can cause brown spots and leaf drop. If the leaves become curly or dry, it's a sign that the plant needs water. It's best to water your plant in the early morning or late evening when the temperatures are cooler. Always check the soil before watering.
Light:
Provide bright indoor light or indirect sunlight for about 6 to 8 hours a day.
Temperature:
Maintain temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid exposing the plant to drafts, as these can cause undesirable temperature fluctuations. Mist the plant occasionally, about twice a week, to help maintain optimal humidity levels.
Fertilizer:
Apply liquid fertiliser every 15 days when the plant is actively growing. For best results, use Folikraft ready-to-use Indoor Plant Food.
