Description
Croton Indoor is a woody stemmed foliage shrub whose leathery leaves carry yellow, orange and red veining, with colour intensity set directly by how much light it receives.
Two sizes are available, 30cm and 80cm, priced from AED 40 to AED 135 across nursery and ceramic pot options. The 80cm plants are branched shrubs rather than single stemmed cuttings.
Croton is the plant that punishes being moved. Shifted from a bright nursery into a dimmer UAE living room, or simply relocated across a room, it drops a flush of lower leaves within days and takes a month to rebuild them.
How to care for Croton Indoor in the UAE
The brightest indirect light you have, with some direct morning sun acceptable. Water when the top few centimetres dry and keep the compost evenly moist in summer. Most crotons fade to plain green indoors, which is a light shortage rather than disease, and the fix is moving it nearer the window.

Near a bright window, on a covered balcony from October to April, or beside glazed doors in a villa. More colour options for that light sit in our indoor foliage plants.

Why did it drop leaves after delivery?
Transport and a change of light. Leave it in one position, water normally and wait. New growth typically appears within three to four weeks.
Is the sap harmful to pets?
The milky sap irritates mouths and skin and the plant is toxic if eaten, so keep it away from cats, dogs and small children.
Plants Care
Watering:
Water your plant once a week or when the soil starts to feel slightly dry on the surface. Keep the soil consistently moist, but be careful not to overwater, as this can cause brown spots and leaf drop. If the leaves become curly or dry, it's a sign that the plant needs water. It's best to water your plant in the early morning or late evening when the temperatures are cooler. Always check the soil before watering.
Light:
Provide bright indoor light or indirect sunlight for about 6 to 8 hours a day.
Temperature:
Maintain temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid exposing the plant to drafts, as these can cause undesirable temperature fluctuations. Mist the plant occasionally, about twice a week, to help maintain optimal humidity levels.
Fertilizer:
Apply liquid fertiliser every 15 days when the plant is actively growing. For best results, use Folikraft ready-to-use Indoor Plant Food.
