Asparagus Fern Hanging is a trailing foliage plant whose soft needle like sprays are not true fronds but flattened stems, which is why it copes with more light than a real fern.
It is supplied at 30cm in a nursery pot at AED 40, a single option with no ceramic upgrade. The pot is made to hang, so it suits a hook straight away.
Hung near a ceiling in a UAE apartment, this plant sits in the warmest and driest layer of air in the room. Heat rises and pools there, so the sprays shed tiny needles onto the floor at a rate that surprises first time owners.
How to care for Asparagus Fern Hanging in the UAE
Bright indirect light, out of midday sun. Water when the top of the compost dries and mist the sprays in summer. This plant dies most often from going completely dry once, because the tuberous roots collapse and whole sprays brown off rather than recovering.

Maintain temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid exposing the plant to drafts, as these can cause undesirable temperature fluctuations. Mist the plant occasionally, about twice a week, to help maintain optimal humidity levels.
Fertilizer:
