Artificial grass is a synthetic turf surface laid over a prepared base, used in Dubai where natural lawn will not survive summer without heavy irrigation. It is supplied here by the roll, 50 square metres at AED 1,800, which works out at AED 36 per square metre.
Dubai heat is what separates artificial turf that lasts from turf that does not. A dark surface in open sun runs well above air temperature by mid afternoon, and thin backed turf goes hard and brittle after two or three summers of it. Sand infill matters for the same reason: it holds the blades upright and keeps the backing from taking the full load of foot traffic on a softened surface.
How to clean and maintain artificial grass in the UAE
Artificial grass needs less work than lawn, not no work. Fine dust settles into the pile constantly here and mats it down, which is what makes a two year old lawn look flat and grey rather than worn. A rinse lifts the dust and brushing against the grain lifts the pile, and both need doing more often than in a temperate climate. Pet areas need rinsing rather than brushing, since the issue is drainage through the backing. Left too long, matted fibres take a set and the flattening becomes permanent.
Where artificial grass works best
Villa gardens, roof terraces, balconies, pool surrounds, play areas and indoor commercial spaces. It suits anywhere natural lawn would need daily summer irrigation to survive, and any surface that cannot take the weight or drainage of real soil. Cleaning and brushing are handled as part of a recurring garden maintenance visit rather than booked on their own.

One roll covers 50 square metres. For a larger area, order multiple rolls. Joins are least visible when every roll runs in the same blade direction.
How often does artificial grass need cleaning in Dubai?

Watering:
Water your plant once a week or when the soil starts to feel slightly dry on the surface. Keep the soil consistently moist, but be careful not to overwater, as this can cause brown spots and leaf drop. If the leaves become curly or dry, it's a sign that the plant needs water. It's best to water your plant in the early morning or late evening when the temperatures are cooler. Always check the soil before watering.
Light:
Provide bright indoor light or indirect sunlight for about 6 to 8 hours a day.
Temperature:
Maintain temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid exposing the plant to drafts, as these can cause undesirable temperature fluctuations. Mist the plant occasionally, about twice a week, to help maintain optimal humidity levels.
Fertilizer:
