Areca Palm Holland is a Dutch greenhouse grown Areca palm (Dypsis lutescens), a clumping palm that grows as a dense cluster of slim yellow-green canes topped with arching, feathery fronds.
Two heights are stocked: 80-90cm for AED 250 and 120cm for AED 350. The 80-90cm size fills a floor corner beside a sofa, and the 120cm size screens a window or a doorway.
A Holland grown palm moves from the humid air of a Dutch greenhouse into an air conditioned Dubai room in a matter of days. Older frond tips brown during the first few weeks while the palm adjusts, so judge Areca Palm Holland on the fronds that open after arrival.
How to care for Areca Palm Holland in the UAE
Place Areca Palm Holland in bright indirect light, one to two metres from a window and out of the direct stream of an AC vent. Water when the top three centimetres of compost feel dry, roughly once a week in a cooled room, and empty the saucer 30 minutes later. Areca palms are sensitive to fluoride and dissolved salts, so filtered or bottled water keeps the frond tips green for longer than tap water.

Plants Care
Watering:
Water your plant once a week or when the soil starts to feel slightly dry on the surface. Keep the soil consistently moist, but be careful not to overwater, as this can cause brown spots and leaf drop. If the leaves become curly or dry, it's a sign that the plant needs water. It's best to water your plant in the early morning or late evening when the temperatures are cooler. Always check the soil before watering.
Light:
Provide bright indoor light or indirect sunlight for about 6 to 8 hours a day.
Temperature:
Maintain temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid exposing the plant to drafts, as these can cause undesirable temperature fluctuations. Mist the plant occasionally, about twice a week, to help maintain optimal humidity levels.
Fertilizer:
Apply liquid fertiliser every 15 days when the plant is actively growing. For best results, use Folikraft ready-to-use Indoor Plant Food.
