Indoor Plants
MyPlants stocks over 58 indoor varieties from AED 20 to AED 2,800, delivered across the UAE in a nursery pot, with decorative pots available to add on each product page. Every plant on this page is selected against one problem Dubai interiors share: air conditioning running most of the year, daylight arriving filtered through glass, and rooms that rarely receive direct sun.
Which indoor plants improve air quality?
Areca Palm, Snake Plant, Peace Lily and ZZ Plant are the four most commonly cited for indoor air quality, and each works differently. Areca Palm has the largest leaf surface area of the four, which raises the rate of gas exchange. Snake Plant releases oxygen at night rather than only during daylight, unlike most houseplants. Peace Lily tolerates the lowest light of the group, making it usable in rooms the others would struggle in. ZZ Plant contributes least on air but survives conditions that kill the other three.
One plant in a large room does not measurably change air quality. The effect scales with plant count against room volume, which is why an office or a large living room needs three or more rather than one. The full ranked list of ten sits in our air purifying plants guide.
Choosing by room and light level
Light is the first filter and the one most buyers get wrong, because human eyes adjust to dim rooms in a way plant photosynthesis does not. A plant three metres from the nearest window is in low light regardless of how bright the room looks.
Five filters narrow the range faster than browsing the full grid. Households with cats or dogs should start with the last one, because two houseplants sold widely here, Peace Lily and Dieffenbachia, cause mouth irritation and vomiting if chewed.
- Low light plants for rooms more than two metres from a window or with no direct sun.
- Hard to kill plants for anyone who travels or forgets to water, tolerating two to three weeks unattended.
- Office plants for workplace light and traffic patterns.
- Air purifying plants for the filtered air-quality range.
- Pet friendly plants for homes with cats or dogs.
Size tiers and what each costs
Indoor plants here fall into three size tiers, and price tracks size far more than species rarity.
Desk and shelf, under 50cm. Variegated Pandanus from AED 20, Canna Lily Green from AED 25, Jasmin Murraya at AED 25, Golden Pothos from AED 30, Dracaena Marginata Small from AED 37, Snake Plant from AED 40 and Spider Plant at AED 45. This tier suits a desk, a shelf or a bathroom windowsill.
Floor plants, roughly 1 to 1.5 metres. Areca Palm from AED 99, Monstera Deliciosa from AED 100, Dracaena Marginata from AED 105, Lady Palm from AED 125, Cast Iron Plant from AED 150, Fiddle Leaf Tree from AED 160 and Dracaena Massangeana from AED 180. This is the tier most living rooms need.
Statement plants, 1.8 metres and above. Bird of Paradise to AED 750, Dracaena Janet Craig to AED 870, Rhapis Excelsa Bushy Tall at AED 945, Dracaena Massangeana Branched to AED 1,050, Alocasia California to AED 1,838 and Fiddle Plant to AED 2,800. One plant at this size does more for a double-height villa room than four medium plants spread around it.
Choosing a decorative pot
Every plant here is priced in its nursery pot, the plain plastic grow pot it was raised in. On each product page you can add a decorative pot of your choice separately, or drop the nursery pot into a container you already own. Pots are also sold separately from the pots and planters range, where material matters more than looks: thin decorative ceramic can crack outdoors in UAE heat, while fiberglass handles it.
Care in air-conditioned rooms
The single adjustment that matters most here is watering frequency. Air conditioning pulls moisture from both the air and the soil surface faster than natural humidity does, so a plant in an AC-cooled Dubai apartment dries out sooner than the same plant in a humid climate, even though the room feels cool. Check the top five centimetres of soil rather than following a fixed schedule, and keep plants out of the direct path of an AC vent, where cold dry air causes leaf edges to brown.
Every plant ships with care instructions written for AC-conditioned rooms rather than generic guidance. For the full method, see our beginner's guide to plant care in UAE weather.
Delivery and ongoing care
Delivery covers Dubai and the wider UAE, with the available window shown at checkout. Larger statement plants are handled differently from desk plants, since a 1.8 metre specimen cannot ship in a standard box.
For homes and offices that would rather not manage watering and rotation, our indoor plant maintenance service covers ongoing care, including watering, leaf cleaning, pest monitoring and rotation of any plant underperforming in its position.
FAQ
What do indoor plants cost in Dubai?
Indoor plants here run from AED 20 for a small Variegated Pandanus to AED 2,800 for a large Fiddle Plant. Most floor-standing living room plants sit between AED 99 and AED 250 in a nursery pot.
Which indoor plants are best for air quality?
Areca Palm, Snake Plant, Peace Lily and ZZ Plant are the four most commonly cited. Areca has the largest leaf area, Snake Plant releases oxygen at night, and Peace Lily tolerates the lowest light of the group.
What are the best tall indoor plants for a living room?
Bird of Paradise, Dracaena Janet Craig, Rhapis Excelsa and Fiddle Plant all reach 1.8 metres or more. A single plant at this size suits a double-height villa room better than three or four medium plants spread around it.
Which indoor plants survive low light?
Snake Plant, ZZ Plant and Cast Iron Plant tolerate rooms more than two metres from a window or with no direct sun. None will survive a room with zero ambient daylight, such as a windowless storage space.
How often should indoor plants be watered in an AC room?
More often than a humid-climate care guide suggests, because air conditioning dries both the air and the soil surface. Check the top five centimetres of soil rather than watering on a fixed schedule.
Do you deliver indoor plants outside Dubai?
Yes, delivery covers Dubai and the wider UAE. The available delivery window for a given order and location is shown at checkout.
Do indoor plants come in a decorative pot?
Plants are supplied in a nursery pot. You can add a decorative pot of your choice separately on the product page, or drop the nursery pot into a container you already have.
Which indoor plants are safe for cats and dogs?
Areca Palm, Parlour Palm, Boston Fern and Bird's Nest Fern are non-toxic to cats and dogs. Peace Lily and Dieffenbachia are both sold widely and both cause mouth irritation and vomiting if chewed.
