Description
Wax Palm is a slim trunked palm with arching fronds, sold here at mature sizes for immediate effect. Heights offered are 2.5m, 3.0m, 3.5m and 4.0m, priced between AED 2200 and AED 4200. Specimens above roughly 3 metres are delivered and planted by the MyPlants team.
The waxy bloom on the trunk and leaf bases gives this palm its name and slows water loss through the surface. An established plant rides out a Dubai August on less irrigation than a comparably sized feather palm, and coastal salt in the air leaves little visible damage.
How to care for Wax Palm in the UAE
Full sun to light shade, with deep and infrequent watering that wets the whole root zone. Short daily sprinkler cycles are the problem to avoid: they keep roots shallow near the surface, where soil temperature swings hardest, leaving the palm less stable and more drought sensitive.

Which height should I choose?
Match it to the wall behind. A 2.5m palm reads well against a single storey elevation, while 3.5m and 4.0m suit double height entrances and open frontage.
Does the trunk need cleaning?
No. The pale waxy coating is natural and should be left alone. Scrubbing it off marks the trunk and the finish does not return quickly.
Plants Care
Watering:
Water your plant once a week or when the soil starts to feel slightly dry on the surface. Keep the soil consistently moist, but be careful not to overwater, as this can cause brown spots and leaf drop. If the leaves become curly or dry, it's a sign that the plant needs water. It's best to water your plant in the early morning or late evening when the temperatures are cooler. Always check the soil before watering.
Light:
Provide bright indoor light or indirect sunlight for about 6 to 8 hours a day.
Temperature:
Maintain temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid exposing the plant to drafts, as these can cause undesirable temperature fluctuations. Mist the plant occasionally, about twice a week, to help maintain optimal humidity levels.
Fertilizer:
Apply liquid fertiliser every 15 days when the plant is actively growing. For best results, use Folikraft ready-to-use Indoor Plant Food.
