Description
The Ashoka Tree is a narrow upright evergreen used as a vertical screening and avenue tree, holding a columnar form that takes very little horizontal space.
Stocked at 2 metres, 3 metres and 4 metres, AED 300 to AED 600.
Its columnar habit is the reason it appears so often along UAE boundaries and driveways: it screens at height without spreading into the space beside it, which matters on a plot where a broad canopy would not fit. It holds foliage year round in this climate.
How to care for an Ashoka Tree in the UAE
Full sun to partial shade and free draining soil. Water consistently through the first season, then reduce. Its narrow form needs little shaping, which is part of why it is used in rows.
Where the Ashoka Tree works best
Rows along a boundary or driveway, or either side of an entrance where height is wanted without width. Other columnar and boundary options sit under privacy and screening trees.

Maintain temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid exposing the plant to drafts, as these can cause undesirable temperature fluctuations. Mist the plant occasionally, about twice a week, to help maintain optimal humidity levels.
Fertilizer:
