Description
Black Pebbles are tumbled dark stone used as a decorative top dressing over soil, inside planters and around water features. They are sold at AED 65 in four grades: 1cm to 2cm, 2cm to 4cm, 3cm to 5cm and 5cm to 8cm.
Dark stone absorbs heat rather than reflecting it, so a black pebble bed in open Gulf sun is hot underfoot by midday and passes warmth down into the soil beneath. Under a tree canopy, on a shaded side return, or inside an indoor planter, that heat gain stops being a factor.
How to use Black Pebbles
Lay them over a weed membrane on open ground so they do not sink into soil. In planters, keep the layer thin enough to still feel whether the soil underneath is wet, since a thick stone cap hides the one thing worth checking before watering.
Where Black Pebbles work best

Which size should I choose for a planter?
Smaller grades such as 1cm to 2cm sit neatly around a plant stem. Larger 5cm to 8cm stone suits open beds, where fine grades scatter.
Do black pebbles fade in the sun?
The stone colour is natural, not coated, so it does not fade. What changes is surface dust, which lightens the look until the pebbles are washed.
Plants Care
Watering:
Water your plant once a week or when the soil starts to feel slightly dry on the surface. Keep the soil consistently moist, but be careful not to overwater, as this can cause brown spots and leaf drop. If the leaves become curly or dry, it's a sign that the plant needs water. It's best to water your plant in the early morning or late evening when the temperatures are cooler. Always check the soil before watering.
Light:
Provide bright indoor light or indirect sunlight for about 6 to 8 hours a day.
Temperature:
Maintain temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid exposing the plant to drafts, as these can cause undesirable temperature fluctuations. Mist the plant occasionally, about twice a week, to help maintain optimal humidity levels.
Fertilizer:
Apply liquid fertiliser every 15 days when the plant is actively growing. For best results, use Folikraft ready-to-use Indoor Plant Food.
