Description
Bird of Paradise Duo is a pair of matched Strelitzia plants, each carrying broad paddle leaves on long upright stalks.
Both plants measure 110cm and the pair costs AED 699, supplied in ceramic pots.
Strelitzia leaves tear along the veins as they age, and that happens faster here because balcony wind, and even an indoor fan, catches the wide blade. The splitting is normal and harmless, but it changes how a matched pair looks after a year outdoors.
How to care for Bird of Paradise Duo in the UAE
This species wants more light than most indoor plants. Keep it within a metre of a bright window, or on a shaded terrace. Water when the top third of the compost dries. Indoors the usual failure is too little light, which stops new leaves forming for months.
Where Bird of Paradise Duo works best

Will the Bird of Paradise Duo flower indoors in the UAE?
Rarely. Flowering needs years of maturity and strong light. Treat these as foliage plants and count any bloom as a bonus.
Should I cut off split leaves?
Only when a leaf is more brown than green. Splitting is natural, and taking off healthy leaves removes the plant's working surface.
Plants Care
Watering:
Water your plant once a week or when the soil starts to feel slightly dry on the surface. Keep the soil consistently moist, but be careful not to overwater, as this can cause brown spots and leaf drop. If the leaves become curly or dry, it's a sign that the plant needs water. It's best to water your plant in the early morning or late evening when the temperatures are cooler. Always check the soil before watering.
Light:
Provide bright indoor light or indirect sunlight for about 6 to 8 hours a day.
Temperature:
Maintain temperatures between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid exposing the plant to drafts, as these can cause undesirable temperature fluctuations. Mist the plant occasionally, about twice a week, to help maintain optimal humidity levels.
Fertilizer:
Apply liquid fertiliser every 15 days when the plant is actively growing. For best results, use Folikraft ready-to-use Indoor Plant Food.
