Why AC run hours decide the watering interval
Air conditioning dries the air it cools, and drier air pulls more water out of both the leaf surface and the soil surface. A pot in a room cooled 24 hours a day therefore reaches dry soil sooner than the identical pot in a room cooled 8 hours a night, even though the 2 rooms look the same and sit in the same building.
This is why a schedule copied from a care label fails here. The label assumes a room that is not being actively dehumidified. Count your AC hours instead, then use them to set how often you check the soil.
How often to check, by AC pattern
Set your checking frequency from 3 patterns. In a room air conditioned continuously, check the soil every 3 days. In a room cooled only in the evening and overnight, check every 5 days. In a room left uncooled for most of the day, check weekly. Checking is not watering: you water only when the check says the plant is ready.

What happens next matters as much. Empty the saucer rather than leaving the pot standing in the water it just released, because soil left in contact with standing water stays saturated at the base of the root ball where you cannot see it. Small frequent splashes cause the opposite problem: they keep the top layer moist, leave the lower root zone dry, and concentrate salt in the pot because nothing ever drains out.
Adjusting through the UAE year
